MILPITAS – The Travelers Protective Association of America (TPA) California Division, headed by Milpitas Mayor Jose S. Esteves as State President and Dr. Dem Belmonte Nitafan, DBA, State Secretary -Treasurer, won top national awards recently.
At the TPA California Division board meeting on September 25, Dr. Nitafan, who was recently elected as TPA National Director, reported that the TPA California Division won the following top national awards: 1st Place Community Service Awards (Small Division); 1st Place (Highest Points), Safety Committee Awards (Small Division); 1st Place, Community Service Awards (Small Post), Post E, California; 1st Place (Highest Points), Safety Committee Awards (Small Post), Post SC, California.
The other California Division officers and directors are: Roberto David, 1st VP; Elena N. Escober, 2nd VP; Art Madlaing, 3rd VP; Chona N. Escober, Chaplain; Board of Directors: Marie Nitafan-Quan, Elena N . Escober, Evangelina Fernandez, Consuelo M. David, Catherine Nitafan-Young, Rudy L. Fernandez, Art Madlaing, Cecilia C. Nitafan, Chona N. Escober and Loreta Panoringan.
TPAis one of the oldest fraternal societies in America. It has threefold blend of benefits for members, their families and for the community, functioning in three major areas: fraternalism, safety projects and community service. Participation on a national, state and local level include the following: Child Safety Program, Scholarship Trust for the Hearing Impaired. Other activities include Little League Teams, Meal on Wheels for the Elderly, Highway Rest Stops, Cross-Walk Crossing Safety.
