Nomination for Migration Advocacy and Media Awards Opens


CHICAGO (JGL) — The Consulate General of the Philippines announced Wednesday (Sept. 30) that the Commission on Filipino Overseas (CFO) has formally opened nominations for the Migration Advocacy and Media (MAM) Awards for 2015. 
Eligible for the awards are media works by government and private media outlets, institutions and practitioners in the field print, radio, movie and television, advertising and blogging, Internet sites, whether based in the Philippines or abroad. Entries must have raised awareness on issues on Filipino migration, advocated the cause of overseas Filipinos and/or promoted a positive image of overseas Filipinos.
These awards were conceived in 2011 by the CFO and the Inter-Agency Committee for the December celebration of the Month of Overseas Filipinos and International Migrants Day in the Philippines. The awards recognize the significant role of the media in the promotion and advocacy of various issues on migration and development.
